Neelam, Me, Laxmi and Gau Maya |
Gau Maya Gurung (Miss Uk Nepal 2011) is planning on making her way
to Nepal this summer and trek all the way to her last base camp-
the one and only Mount Everest! Basically, Gau Maya has to fundraise
a certain amount so that Childreach International can give her
the support and guidance on her way to Nepal, where she will then
hand over the money she has raised.
As her helping hand, I went over to Aldershot on Saturday to
do my bit and help out my friend Gau Maya!
Best of Both really brought the community together. It was a wonderful
event for the Brits and the Nepalese to come together as one and enjoy each
other's company whilst helping out local charities by letting them run stalls.
I'm not that great at face painting but I've done some before for fund
raising events so I knew it was going to be a fun day! Plus it is such
a good way to raise money because every kid wants one! Some
wanted to be cats, some wanted flowers.. so adorable!
Thankyou for the photos Laxmi! (I forgot my camera so Laxmi took photos on her iPhone!) |
All together, Gau Maya managed to raise £91.84 ! Apart from face painting,
she was selling a few hand made bits and bobs here and there so
hoorah! Team work paid off! I'm very happy for Gau Maya!
